Stay for a day or a week, Honfleur is a place you'd always like to spend more time in.
Get ready to slip a good ten minutes before the bridge opening times, but no need to slip until you see the bridge-keepers strolling towards the bridge control podium on the south side of the bridge. Slip too early and you'll be jostling amongst other boats trying to hold station whilst bridge is still down.
If you fortunate enough to have the outer lock in free flow stow your lines and fenders, otherwise get fenders set high on both sides and have line ready to lasoo to the floating bollards set into the lock walls, or, as in this case, to fishing boat already within the lock.
